This change to NX1 reflects our commitment to providing a comprehensive solution for development teams. Our aim is to simplify the deployment of applications and infrastructure in a secure, scalable manner.
Background
Citadel.run originated as a solution developed within DNX Solutions in 2021, in response to the growing OpenBanking startup sector in Australia. The increased demand led us to develop a solution that helps DNX consultants to deploy secure, compliant foundations and platforms for their clients, adhering to OpenBanking standards.
The solution expanded to include other compliance standards like HIPAA, ISO27001, and SOC2. Initially, it was focused heavily on infrastructure, helping set up the foundational elements in clients’ AWS clouds before migrating and modernizing applications.
In 2023, we became independent from DNX Solutions and secured a $1M seed fund in Australia, with investments from FlyingFox, Archangel, and Utiliti.
New Focus: Secure and Scalable Apps
As cloud infrastructure becomes increasingly complex, it poses a higher entry barrier for small businesses to leverage these technologies effectively.
Our mission is to enable tech businesses to utilize cloud technologies to serve their customers, while maintaining high levels of security and compliance, without the need for a dedicated devops team.
This mission led us to develop a product that we believe meets these challenges.

Launching today, NX1 offers a platform-as-a-service experience that allows you to deploy your applications into the cloud quickly and efficiently. You can achieve zero-downtime deployments in just minutes. What's more, it’s fully customizable.
The platform still includes foundational infrastructure elements, and we’re enhancing the user experience by allowing the import of existing environments and the ability to toggle certain features on and off.
